What I'm up to now?

I'm still living in Kerken, Germany. In 2023 we bought a house from 1992 and did some modernisations like new windows, front-door, replaced gas-heating with heat-pump and installed a nice photovoltaic system in June 2024. Currently I'm into automating energy management etc. using Home Assistant.

Our son is five years old and quiet happy exploring the world with us. Our little family just expanded in May 2026 with a little girl.

I'm working for ALDI DX (the international IT part of ALDI South) as Senior IT Engineer in "Store Software Integration" supporting teams in their SDLC, DevOps setup, doing some teaching and special tasks. I'm really happy at this place.

I still like self-hosting and being in control of my data. This page is delivered to you by a tiny server in my basement.

For many years I was highly into note-taking (PKM) and finally came back and settled down to Obsidian.
